Welcome to the Sherwood Family site.  Orignally we came from England, Jonathan  Sherwood born in 1831, died in the Civil War at the Battle of Belmont, Mo.  We  also have the family names of Forrest, Brown, Thompson and Martin.  My  Grandmother and Grandfather Sherwood (Finus Rufus Doy and Cynthia Belle Brown)  came from Carroll Co. Tennessee.  They had 9 children, only one is still living  and that is my Mother Mildred Chloe Sherwood.  My Grandfather had 9 brothers  and sisters.  One of my relatives is looking into the fact that we might be  related to Nathan Bedford Forrest, this would be on my Grandfathers Mothers  side.
